Founding of Condo Owners Association
COA Founder, Linda Pinizzotto, a Long Term Realtor servicing Toronto/GTA Mississauga had a vision in March 2010 when she founded the Condo Owners Association to advocate and represent Condo Owners and Buyers rights across Ontario. Linda believed that all Condominiums needed governance, accountability for long term sustainability in condominiums and the present Condo Act 1998 was not provided Condo Owners protection. In shorts years, COA's voice has been heard. There are 1.3 Million Condo Owners in the Province and over 1/2 of new construction in Ontario is condominiums. Linda funds COA personally and in only 3 shorts years, COA's voice has been heard. Today, COA is a Stakeholder in the Condo Act Review.
Radio Show - Linda has launched a radio show called "Condo Xpert" to educate Condo Owners and Condo Buyers. Click Here
Concerns - Some condominiums are faced with declining prices and increasing maintenance fees while others are having difficulty with limited reserve funds and poor management of funds. Proxy fraud, misappropriation of funds, non compliance to the Condo Act and legal interference where Condo Owners are not protected.
Register - The Condo Owners Association is a non profit and volunteer based Association formed to identify and advocate Consumer Protection for Condo Owners. We need Condo Owners and Buyers to register in order for them to submit comments and complaints. They are are categorized to identify and maintain a list of ongoing related issues that require COA to facilitate discussions with Government for Consumer Protection. Condo Owners ONLY have COA helping them in this regard.
Future Funding COA - There are 1.3 Million Condo Owners in the Province and over 1/2 of new construction in Ontario is condominiums. Linda's vision is for Condo Owners to support COA by registering at $10 per year so that the Condo Owners Association can have the proper funding to continue to represent and advocate for Condo Owners. COA will also have corporate sponsorships, benefits and savings for Condo Owners who register with COA.
Educator - The Condo Owners Association is an educator. Condo Owners and Buyers need to know the facts. Some condominiums are faced with declining prices and increasing maintenance fees while others are having difficulty with limited reserve funds and poor management of funds. Proxy fraud, misappropriation of funds, non compliance to the Condo Act and legal interference where Condo Owners are not protected.
COA is listed on the Provincial Government website Building a Better Condo Act (at the bottom)
